OET & IELTS TRAINING

OET/IELTS TRAINING

We provide language and cultural training, and job placement assistance to healthcare professionals moving to English-speaking countries. The program equips healthcare professionals with English medical terminology and cultural understanding to help them achieve their professional goals and make a positive impact on the healthcare industry.

OET (Occupational English Test)

An international English language test that assesses the language communication skills of healthcare professionals who seek to register and practice in an English-speaking environment.

It provides a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills: – listening, reading, writing, and speaking – with an emphasis on communication in healthcare professional settings.

IELTS (International English Learning Testing System)

An English Language proficiency test developed and run by the British Council in partnership with IDP Education and Cambridge Assessment English. You must take the Academic Module for your NMC registration or also known as IELTS UKVI.

The test consists of Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, and questions and topics used can be anything under the sun.

Frequently Ask Questions

Yes, OET is different from IELTS. OET assesses the candidate’s ability to communicate in English in healthcare workplaces, while IELTS judges your ability to communicate in English in any setting.

The English exams consist of four sub-tests based on the important English skills required for a candidate to practice in an English-speaking country. The four sub-tests are – Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

350 US dollars for IELTS and 455 US dollars for OET for the full test (four sub-tests including Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)

The OET is intended for 12 healthcare professions, including Medicine, Nursing, Dietetics, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Podiatry, Optometry, Occupational therapy, Veterinary, and Speech Pathology.

The highest score you can get in each category is 9. NMC requires at least 7 for the overall score and all subtests except for writing as 6.5 is acceptable.

The accepted overall score for OET is B. All subtests must have at least the minimum score of B and C+ for the Writing subtest

Validity of the exam is two years after passing.

If you fail your first English exam, you can take the second exam, but it must be taken within six months, covering all categories, so we can combine the scores of the two exams.
